13.07.2026Dear colleagues,
I am pleased to let you know that registration is now open for the upcoming NIAID workshop, Improving Clinical Outcomes for Mucormycosis and Other Rare Mold Infections, which will take place on August 13–14 as a hybrid meeting open to the public.
Venue (in-person): NIAID Conference Center, 5601 Fishers Lane, Rockville, MD 20852. For international participants planning to attend in person, please note that NIH security procedures require registration at least one month before the workshop.

The workshop will bring together clinicians, researchers, regulators, industry representatives, and public health partners to identify barriers to clinical trial development for mucormycosis and other rare mold infections and to develop an actionable roadmap for advancing clinical research and trial infrastructure.
The expected outcomes include:
- Consensus recommendations for advancing clinical trials in rare mold infections
- A Minimum Common Dataset for registries and clinical trial data collection
- A candidate biomarker and endpoint framework
- Trial concept canvases for mucormycosis and other rare mold infections
- Working groups and an action plan to support future protocol development
- A published workshop report and roadmap manuscript
A draft agenda will be posted on the registration website early next week.
I would appreciate it if you could share this announcement through your newsletters, mailing lists, and social media channels, to help us reach the broadest possible audience.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, thank you for your support. We look forward to seeing you at the workshop.
